Practice Season Info

Our practice season runs from when the water breaks (late May to early June) until Festival, during which four dragon boats are available to book for practices on an hourly basis. Dragon boating requires 12 – 23 paddlers in the boat depending on skill and weather conditions. Practices are located at Rafters Landing (9734-98 Avenue), next to the Edmonton Queen Riverboat. We provide the dragon boat, paddles and life jackets. No previous skill is required and anyone can participate. Those new to our sport, please check out our FAQ page.

Practice Session fees – under review

Practice sessions are TBA per hour. You can purchase multiple sessions in bulk: TBA for 10 hourly sessions and TBA for 20 hourly sessions. Practice times are booked on a first come, first serve basis and all fees must be received prior to first practice. Teams deciding to cancel a scheduled practice session must inform the resource coordinator 48 hours prior to scheduled time of the practice in order to receive credits towards rescheduling or reimbursement of fees. The Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival will provide credits for practices cancelled due to bad weather or river conditions.
